Let the Great World Spin, by Colum McCann, is a beautifully crafted novel ostensibly about the 1974 tightrope walk between the World Trade Center towers. However, don’t be fooled; it is about so much more. The prose is startling, the characters are vivid, and their stories are braided together with artistry.
