I’m thoroughly enjoying My Thoughts Be Bloody, by Nora Titone, about the Booth family and especially the actor Edwin Booth, who was the greatest star of the 19th-century stage. His brother John Wilkes was a second-rate performer but in the end literally upstaged his brother by assassinating Lincoln.
