Reader recommendation: Food Rules
Monitor readers share their favorite book picks.
I'm currently enjoying Food Rules by Michael Pollan. It's a very short, yet informative, back-to-the-basics guide to eating smart pretty much the way our ancestors did. It offers 64 rules that, although some are obvious, are really making a difference in my food choices. Also it has reignited my cooking and made a big difference in the ingredient choices I seek out at the grocery store now. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a better view of food without falling into another diet fad.
