Panama Fever
I’ve just finished Panama Fever by Matthew Parker. It’s a history book about the building of the Panama Canal that reads like an adventure. Wonderfully researched it provides us with an understanding of the problems in Panama-US relations and the racism which dehumanized the West Indian laborers working under both the French and the US canal administrations.
