Reader recommendation: The Humans

Monitor readers share their favorite book picks.

Funny, provocative, and inspirational – typical book jacket superlatives – and all absolutely accurate when describing Matt Haigs's 2013 novel The Humans.  Read on the recommendation of a friend, I laughed my way through Haig's exploration of the foibles, beauty, and pain of what it means to be a human. Though it's been done before, and will be again, Haig's take is fresh and insightful.
