Reader recommendation: Hunter

I just found Hunter, by E. Jean Carroll, on my shelf. It’s a fabulous look at the mythology and formative life of Hunter Thompson by a writer and personality very much his match. Gonzo journalism was a fun adjunct to the “new journalism” of Wolfe, Talese, and others, a righteous response to the sense that we were falling down the rabbit hole of history with little to guide us.
