Wendell Berry is an environmental activist, poet, author, and farmer who has been inspiring readers since the late 1960's. Born and raised in Kentucky, Berry tends to focus on agrarian culture and communities. "The Unsettling of America" is about the spiritual and cultural consequences of our society's move from community-based agriculture to big agri-business. Published in 1977, the book is regarded as a contemporary classic.
