2. 'Jungle Girl'
The 1941 film serial followed the story of a doctor's daughter who comes of age in Africa and must defend herself against a witch doctor and her uncle, who murdered her father. The serial is officially based on Burroughs' novel of the same name. But the novel is really about a doctor in Cambodia who meets a girl named Fou-tan who is running away from her city. Despite the fact that the serial took its name from the novel, their plots are almost completely different.
