It's Children’s Book Week 2011 and to celebrate 500,000 young readers across the US had a chance to vote for their favorite books. Here are the titles, authors, and illustrators that this year's record-breaking number of kid voters chose to honor as 2011 Children's Choice Awards winners.

1. "Little Pink Pup," by Johanna Kerby

In the kindergarten-grade 2 category, young readers picked "Little Pink Pup," by Johanna Kerby. This true story of a dachshund named Tink who fostered and fed a runt pig named Pink is rendered all the more irresistible by the photographs of the animals included in the book.
