Saad Hammadi is an investigative journalist based in Dhaka, covering Bangladesh for The Christian Science Monitor and The Guardian. He is also the assistant editor of Xtra, the weekend magazine of New Age, one of the leading English dailies in Bangladesh. During his 10 years in the field of journalism, Saad has covered human rights, the influences of fundamentalism in Bangladesh, and the effects of climate change in the country.

Saad joined New Age in January 2006 as a staff writer for the features section, having already amassed considerable journalistic experience while working for another leading English language paper in Bangladesh, The Daily Star.

Saad graduated from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh with a BSS in media studies and journalism and a minor in English.
