Peter Spotts

Staff writer

Pete Spotts joined the staff in 1976 and has been covering science for The Monitor for nearly 18 years. In the interim, he's served in a variety of writing and editing posts including national-news editor and chief editorial writer. On the side Pete's an avid ham-radio operator and certified "Skywarn" spotter for the National Weather Service. He also peers at odd astronomical objects - sometimes even at birds - through everything from 7x35 binoculars to his eight-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. And what's a laptop without Linux?
