Hannah Hayes

is a freelance writer in Chicago and the parent of a child in the Chicago Public Schools.

She writes primarily on women's issues and education, as well as local Chicago issues.

For six years she lived in Belfast, Northern Ireland where she worked on the Belfast-based Andersonstown News and wrote regularly about the peace process for the Chicago Sun Times. Her articles have appeared in, the San Francisco Examiner, the Christian Science Monitor, Smithsonian Air and Space, and journals of the American Bar Association and the University of Chicago.
