Erica Alini is deputy editor at Monitor Global Outlook, a Christian Science Monitor subscribers-only publication that provides emerging and frontier markets news and analysis to investors and business leaders. Erica edits daily briefs from the Monitor’s extensive network of foreign correspondents in Asia and elsewhere in the world. Working in collaboration with the Monitor’s Beijing bureau, she also assigns, edits, and occasionally writes in-depth analytical pieces on global trends.
Prior to joining the Monitor in January 2014, Erica was an assistant editor at Maclean’s, Canada’s only national news weekly. After moving to the US from Toronto she also wrote regularly on the US economy for Canadian Business magazine.
Erica was born and raised in Italy and holds a BA in international relations from the University of Florence and a master’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She learned to blog at Foreign Policy magazine and fell in love with economic reporting as a paid intern at the Wall Street Journal in New York.
