Foxglove Petal

Foxglove Petal

Delicate as a curled silk scarf,
the foxglove petal
fallen from its mother cluster.

In its throat
pointilist drops of deep purple,
white pistils, miniature matchsticks
sprout from its center.

I peer through the fluted hole
and at the other end
see Blake's eternity.
