Into It: Tony Robbins

The leadership and performance guru reveals what he's reading, watching, and listening to.

Tony Robbins, guru on the psychology of leadership and peak performance, what are you ...

... READING?

I'm always reading six or seven books simultaneously and dipping in and out of them. So, in the last couple of weeks I've been reading everything from Louise Richardson's What Terrorists Want: Understanding the Enemy, Containing the Threat, to Integral Spirituality: A Startling New Role for Religion in the Modern and Postmodern World by Ken Wilbur. I am rereading, for the second time, The Singularity Is Near by Ray Kurzweil. I am in the midst of A Life Decoded: My Genome: My Life by J. Craig Venter, whom I had the privilege of meeting recently.

... WATCHING?

Last week I saw the documentary In the Shadow of the Moon, which is about the surviving astronauts from Apollo – quite a wonderful experience. And No End In Sight, which is about the Iraq Invasion from a first-person perspective.

... LISTENING TO?

I'm a huge U2 fan so everything from "Vertigo," "Beautiful Day," "The Saints Are Coming," "With Or Without You" – these are just standards when I'm working out. Alicia Keyes's "No One," Usher's new album, old Guns 'n' Roses like "Sweet Child of Mine," Nickelback's "Rock Star," the Best of Andrea Bocelli, and Jay-Z and Linkin Park's "Numb." My iPod is about as diverse as you can imagine.

Tony Robbins picked music inspired by great faiths, from Hindu mantras to Christian hymns, for a CD called "Sacred Blessings." TonyRobbins.com
