Tubegazing: 'Lipstick Jungle'

The latest 'Sex and the City' knockoff is as glossy as its title suggests but no less watchable for it.

Lipstick Jungle

(NBC, Feb. 7, 10 p.m.):

In yet another effort to restyle the "Sex and the City" formula as a network blockbuster, "Lipstick Jungle" explores the sex-and-drama-laced lives of three high-powered female executives in Manhattan. One of the trio, played by Brooke Shields, is nothing less than a film-studio head. When she suffers the humiliation of a nanny trashing her parenting skills, the entire city, not just a bistro table, is abuzz. This is a high gloss, prime-time soap but it's a tad too earnest (Serious women with serious problems). On the other hand, it does star the fabulous Kim Raver. Grade: B+
