Slingin' Packer keeps making pinpoint, six-point passes

Brett Favre, a good ol' Mississippi boy, has become a sports hero of almost mythic proportions in Wisconsin. He's spent almost his entire 17-year National Football League career with the Green Bay Packers. On Sunday, he starts his 206th consecutive game at quarterback (a league record), as Green Bay hosts the Philadelphia Eagles in the opening weekend of the 2007 season. The league's only three-time MVP (1995-97) also has his sights set on setting another record, for most career TD tosses, a mark currently held by Hall of Famer Dan Marino, who had 420 scoring strikes during 17 seasons with the Miami Dolphins. Ironically, Favre's first pro pass was deflected, but he caught it for a seven-yard gain. The all-time NFL leaders in touchdown passes, with their totals:

  • Dan Marino 420
  • Brett Favre* 414
  • Fran Tarkenton 342
  • John Elway 300
  • Warren Moon 291
  • Johnny Unitas 290
  • Peyton Manning* 275
  • Joe Montana 273
  • Vinny Testaverde* 270
  • Dave Krieg 261
