Both hands reach
out toward
each other's,
touch and firmly clasp:
skin brown, skin pink
together.
Eyes smile and hold.
Mouths speak
but cannot find
words known
to both.
It is enough -
almost.
We understand
each other,
as animals know
which creatures
love
them.
