In a June 6 story on women breaking gender barriers (page 1), statistics on women's participation in the labor force were mischaracterized. Currently, about 60.1 percent of women age 16 and older work, up from 57.4 percent in 1989. (Relative to men, women have climbed from 45.1 percent of all workers in 1989 to about 46.6 percent today.)
