Call it what you want - pop, soda, or tonic - many Americans want their daily carbonation. Soda was the hottest-selling item in supermarkets last year. Stores raked in more than $12 billion in soda sales in 1999, up almost 5 percent from 1998, according to Information Resources Inc. On average, here's what every $100 spent in a grocery store buys:
