Turn your green tomatoes into jam

If your garden is littered with green tomatoes try this simple faux strawberry or raspberry jam before you cart those unripened tommies off to the compost pile.

3 cups washed, cored, and chopped green tomatoes

2 cups sugar

1 6-ounce package of raspberry or strawberry Jell-O

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Seal in sterilized jars for long-term keeping, or clean, washed jars if jam will be used within a month or two.

Makes about 6 cups.
