Due to an editing error, the meaning of a sentence changed in theopinion-page article ``Yeltsin's Chechen Move - A Massive Backfire,'' Jan. 12. It should have read ``They [the Chechens] fought unsuccessfully for independence after the Russian Revolution, and were falsely accused of collaboration with the Germans during World War II.''
