December Quiet

Not the quiet of sleeping children, a cat's lazy stare. Not quiet like the gold silk of lamplight, or roses in a vase. Not an afghan's homespun or morning-paper quiet. Snow in December, that quiet sifitng from cold to a warm shoulder.
