US Tennis Open (CBS, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., E.T. - minus 30 minutes for local news): Live coverage of the women's semifinals, pitting top-seeded Steffi Graf against No. 2 Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, and Helena Sukova, a finalist in 1986, against Manuela Maleeva-Fragniere, a semifinalist last year.

Disney's Adventures in Wonderland (Syndicated, check local listings for times): A modern Alice, a hip Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee - along with the Mad Hatter and the others - all figure in this new weekly series for early-elementary-school kids beginning Friday on many stations. Mixing live action, music, and animation, it's claiming educational benefits along with the entertainment, having received recommendations from both the National Educational Association and the American Federation of Teachers. The show's aim is to instill language skills as the characters perform their antics. In the opener, the Queen takes up sculpture as a hobby, and soon her ugly handiwork starts appearing all over Wonderland. * SATURDAY

In Performance at the White House (PBS, 8-9 p.m.): A dazzling roster of jazz greats - from veterans to newer stars - played a special concert on the South Lawn of the White House recently, with President and Mrs. Clinton, along with many other noted guests, in the audience. The players, ranging from Joe Williams and Herbie Hancock to Wynton Marsalis, offered an hour of impressive music. * MONDAY
