FEWER JAPANESE GO ABROAD

The number of Japanese traveling abroad between Dec. 23 and Jan. 3 is likely to dip this year, according to a survey by the Japan Travel Bureau.

The JTB said it expected about 449,000 Japanese to leave the country during the period, down from 462,000 a year earlier.
