DENVER — One out of 4 Americans would like to see a modern-day figure pictured on American paper currency, a telephone survey of 1,006 people nationwide by the PLUS ATM network has found. Who did they name? John F. Kennedy was the No. 1 answer, followed by George Bush, Martin Luther King Jr., and Elvis Presley.
The survey also found a lack of awareness among Americans as to just who is pictured on American money. When asked to name the person pictured on the $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills, only 6 percent could name all four.
