On vacation at Afon in the south, in 1951, he summoned Khrushchev and Mikoyan to keep him company. "One day," Khrushchev relates, "we were taking a walk round the grounds when Stalin came out on the porch. He seemed not to notice Mikoyan and me. m finished,' he said to no one in particular. 'I trust no one, not even myself.' "
