WORTH NOTING ON TV

SATURDAY

Great Performances (PBS, 8-9 p.m.): It's not hard to find people who will say the late Nat King Cole was the best pop vocalist of the 1940s and '50s. His daughter, the gifted Natalie, made a popular album called "Unforgettable" in tribute to her father's career. "Unforgettable, With Love" is a TV version, taped during her January tour, that features Natalie in some of Nat's classics.

MONDAY

Great Performances (PBS

8-11:30 p.m.): PBS often bunches shows in this series within a few days of each other. This edition offers an impressive bill of opera stars - Pavarotti, Domingo, and some 20 others in Act III from both "Rigoletto" and "Otello," and in the party scene from "Die Fledermaus." Taped opening night last September, the performances are part of "The Metropolitan Opera Silver Anniversary Gala." They're also part of PBS's "Pledge Week a much-needed campaign, but the source of frustrating interruptions by local p ublic stations.

TUESDAY

Playwrights Theater (A&E cable, 9-10 p.m.): "Avenue Z Afternoon" opens a third season for one of the better ideas TV has had in recent years - to stage four original one-act plays, one a month, January through April. Scripts are culled from about 300 submissions and given serious artistic treatment. This one is a comedy by Stephen DiLauro about a Puerto Rican burglar who breaks into a Brooklyn apartment and proves no match for the resourceful Jewish matron who lives there. Anne Meara plays the lady, Lou Diamond Phillips the burglar, and Lauren Bacall is host.
