NEW YORK CITY AREA HAS WORST PROPERTY TAXES

Several counties in the New York City area have the most-taxed property in the United States, this month's issue of Money magazine reports. Topping the list are three New Jersey counties: Hudson, with average property taxes of $5,776, Passaic ($4,600), and Bergen ($4,500). San Francisco's Marin County ranks fourth, at $4,428, followed by Suffolk County, N.Y., at $4,400.
