GLOBAL MANUFACTURERS GROW FASTER THAN DOMESTIC ONES

United States manufacturers with global operations earn more and grow faster than domestic firms, according to a study by the Conference Board.The study of US manufacturers with annual sales of more than $10 million shows that multinational companies grew faster than domestic ones in 19 of the 20 major industry groups examined, and were more profitable in 17 of the 20 groups. During the 1980s, global companies were 50 percent more likely to survive under the same corporate identity than were domestic firms.
