WORTH NOTING ON TV

SUNDAYThe General's Price: The Full Story (CNN cable, 9-10 p.m.): This report pokes into the background of former Panama dictator Manuel Noriega's drug trial and finds an ugly picture: a long history of US friendship with Noriega, followed - once he became a problem - by massive sentence reduction for drug traffickers in return for testimony against him. The program also sees chaos, duplicity, and broken US promises in Panama following the 1989 invasion. A Fish Called Wanda (ABC, 9-11:17 p.m.): Call it modified Monty Python - John Cleese is writer, executive producer, and actor in this 1988 film having its network premiere. He plays a hapless British barrister who gets entangled with the partners in a diamond robbery, with comedy results that are not quite at the Pythonic level of lunacy but are eccentric enough to make you realize who's behind it all.

MONDAY America Becoming (PBS, 9-10:30 p.m.): At no time since the turn of the century have there been so many varied cultures entering the US, and it makes for sometimes tough adjustment on both sides - social, political, economic. How that's affecting and changing America is the subject of this documentary, filmed on location in six areas throughout the country and narrated by former "60 Minutes" correspondent Meredith Viera. In the Shadow of Love (PBS, 8 p.m.): In a scheduling plan that may be unique, this blunt and sometimes explicit drama about teenagers grappling with impact of the AIDS crisis will air first on PBS, then Thursday on ABC at 4 p.m. The aim is to provide a kind of primer on the disease.
