FEWER FIRMS ARE CHANGING THEIR NAMES

Corporate name changes declined in 1990 for the second year in a row, totaling 1,321, a 17 percent drop from the 1,600 recorded in 1989, according to figures released by Anspach Grossman Portugal Inc. As in previous years, merger and acquisitions accounted for more than half of last year's name changes.
