IRAQ EXPECTS HOSTAGES HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

Iraqi officials say they expect all the hostages in Iraq and Kuwait, including 1,200 Britons and about 750 Americans, will be home by Christmas. The United States sent a chartered Iraqi aircraft to Kuwait Sunday to pick up American hostages and fly them out to Europe, launching an airlift of foreigners trapped since Iraq seized the emirate four months ago.
