SOME ACTIVATED RESERVISTS RETAIN THEIR CORPORATE PAY

Some US military reservists called to service in the Middle East crisis will find that their civilian employers are easing their financial concerns, at least temporarily, by keeping them on the payroll, according to a survey by TPF&C, a management consultancy. Of the 62 large companies surveyed, 46 percent said they will continue to compensate activated reservists, although federal law does not require it. Some firms will provide full salary for periods ranging from two weeks to three months, while others will continue compensation for up to four years with periodic reductions.
