CASTRO SAID TO SEEK MEETING WITH BUSH

A leading Japanese newspaper, Asahi Shimbun, reported June 20 that Cuban President Fidel Castro has asked Japan to arrange for him to meet President Bush at Emperor Akihito's coronation ceremony in November. The newspaper said that it was not yet known whether Mr. Bush would attend the Akihito coronation. Quoting a Japanese official, the newspaper said the Cuban government unofficially informed Japan that Mr. Castro would attend the ceremony.
