EAST GERMAN EXODUS CONTINUES

Austrian police said yesterday that almost 1,800 East Germans crossed from Hungary into Austria in the previous 24 hours. About 36,000 East Germans have now crossed over since Hungary opened its border with Austria on Sept. 11. In Warsaw, about 1,200 East Germans wait for travel papers allowing them to migrate to the West.

Another 50 East Germans seek asylum in Bonn's Prague embassy. Thousands of East Germans besieging Bonn's embassy in Prague in September and October were allowed to travel to the West.
