Sand, Surf, and Shells

But O! in between wait these trees Shadowing mystery of sounds With chipmunks like tiny lions Scampering sunspots down the path As it winds round rocks like mountains On its way to the bursting sea, And you squeeze up tight your fingers And hold your boat in both your hands And most careful you tiptoe down To the gold of the singing sea Where the wind will skylark your soul To wonders beyond the gull's cry.
