UN adopts Soviet resolve against state terrorism

The UN General Assembly adopted a Soviet-sponsored resolution Monday condemning ''state terrorism'' by a vote of 117 to 0, but the United States and 29 other members abstained.

US Ambassador Jose Sorzano said it was ''shameless'' of the Soviets to offer a measure condemning acts ''in which they themselves systematically engage.''
