N.Y.C. crowd hears Mondale rap Reagan on Semitic theme

Walter Mondale told a cheering throng of 100,000 people here - the largest crowd of his campaign - that President Reagan leveled a ''false and contemptible'' allegation when he criticized the Democratic Party for not taking a strong enough stand against anti-Semitism.

Appearing with Mr. Mondale was his running mate, Geraldine Ferraro. Police said the crowd, which filled several blocks along Seventh Avenue, was comparable to the turnout for a 1960 rally for John F. Kennedy.
