Soviet Union, North Yeman sign 20-year friendship pact

The Soviet Union and North Yemen have signed a 20-year treaty of friendship and cooperation, the first such accord between the two nations. The Soviets signed a 20-year friendship and cooperation treaty with South Yemen in 1979 and are said to have some 5,000 civilian and military advisers there.
