Israeli jets attack rebel base on east side of Bekaa Valley
Israeli Air Force jets attacked a guerrilla base Monday at Majd al Anjar, on the eastern side of Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, where Israeli and Syrian troops have been facing each other since Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon. The base has been a command and staging post for Palestine Liberation Organization dissidents loyal to Col. Saeed Mousa.
