Winds extinguish fire on tanker in Persian Gulf

Salvage crews using at least four tugs in the Persian Gulf south of Iran managed to tow a Cypriot-registered oil tanker into the wind Saturday, blowing out a blaze caused by an Iraqi missile attack, the insurance company Lloyds of London said. The tanker Amethyst, loaded with Iranian oil, was attacked by an Iraqi warplane Friday.
