Reagan visits hometown of his ancestors in Ireland

President Reagan made a sentimental journey to his ancestral home here Sunday , and said the visit ''has given my soul a new contentment.'' On Saturday, Mr. Reagan acknowledged the US had made mistakes in foreign policy, but said America's overall record in deterring an ''aggressive'' Soviet military machine was admirable. Reagan said he was doing everything possible to reduce the risk of nuclear war. He was speaking at Galway's University College, where he received an honorary degree.
