Arson hits L.A. school where abuse was charged

A weekend fire set by an arsonist caused an estimated $10,000 damage to the preschool here where, according to indictments handed down last month by a Los Angeles grand jury, children were criminally abused.

Five of seven suspects in the child molestation case have been ordered held without bail by Superior Court Judge Ronald George, who, on April 6, divulged allegations from grand jury transcripts of numerous brutal incidents against children. Two other suspects, including the founder of the school, were free on bail.

At the time of the teachers' arrests last month, prosecutors said that more than 100 children may have been abused in the last 10 years.
