Armed forces chief to testify for Aquino panel
Armed forces chief Gen. Fabian Ver will testify before a civilian panel probing the murder of opposition leader Benigno Aquino, possibly as early as this week, the chief prosecutor said Saturday.
The announcement by prosecutor Andres Narvasa came just two days after General Ver's name was raised in testimony by the stepdaughter of Aquino's alleged assassin, Rolando Galman.
Ver offered to testify the day after Roberta Masibay, Galman's 16-year-old stepdaughter, testified her mother had disappeared Jan. 29. Masibay testified her mother said she had been summoned by Ver but warned her not to tell anyone because ''our lives are in danger.''
