21 million Poles watch TV movie 'The Day After

An estimated 21 million of Poland's 36 million people watched ''The Day After ,'' the American television movie about nuclear war, broadcast here Thursday night. It was the first full length showing of the film in a Communist country.

Immediately before the film began, a Polish television announcer accused the United States of seeking to win military superiority over the Soviet Union and said Washington had not matched a Moscow pledge not to be the first to use nuclear weapons.
