Salvadorean businessmen criticize former US envoy

A group of Salvadorean businessmen has launched a publicity offensive against former US Ambassador Robert E. White, claiming he plays a key role in an ''odious'' effort by ''liberals'' to link prominent Salvadoreans with death squads.

The El Salvador Chamber of Commerce of Industry charges that Mr. White is violating human rights by spreading lies about the Salvadoreans.
