News In Brief

Most US troops to leave Grenada this week

Presdient Reagan has stepped up withdrawal of US troops from Grenada and expects to have all but about 300 out this week. The last remaining US combat troops, 915 paratroopers, are to be out by Thursday.

After that, the 300 remaining US troops will be mostly military police, there to maintain order until the fledgling Grenadian government organizes a police force of its own.
