A man and a woman were killed and 28 people injured Saturday when explosions rocked the nation's largest fireworks manufacturing plant. Residents of badly damaged homes in the area were offered shelter at a nearby high school. The explosion at the Grucci fireworks complex sent a variety of skyrockets and a huge mushroom cloud into the Long Island sky.
