Anchor woman's award in sex bias is overruled
A jury's recommendation that television newswoman Christine Craft be granted on the basis of her sex was overturned Monday. Judge Joseph Stevens Jr., who presided over the two-week trial last August, said the award was a ''mistake on the part of the jury.'' Ms. Craft said she was ''appalled'' by the ruling.
Judge Stevens ordered a new trial for Ms. Craft, who is suing Metromedia, the former owners of a television station here which demoted her from the position of television news anchor.
